My Teaching Philosophy
My goal in teaching is to develop in each of my students a comprehensive understanding of music that includes sightreading skills, rhythmic awareness, technique, theory, expressive playing, and practice skills.
I believe in a student–centered approach to curriculum, and draw from a wide range of instructional materials and approaches. Students learn practice strategies that are based on their level of instruction and the goals we are working on at that level. I am dedicated to finding the best course of study for each student, guiding each to build secure skills and to play music they enjoy.
